DATA paperwork-transfer, subject 'Wild Shrike'
Biographical information-
The creature known as Wild Shrike appeared in Paragon City sometime roughly over a year and a half ago, not long after the Council overthrew the Fifth Column soldiers in street battles that took days for the heroes of the city to subdue. Initially hiding out in the park area of Galaxy City, he came to DATA's attention after inadvertently rescuing one of our researchers, Doctor David Prescott, from a group of Circle of Thorns mages. Doctor Prescott eventually decided to offer him employment as a 'lab assistant' both out of gratitude and to have more aggresive backup when out on field assignments. This proved wise as Doctor Prescott often found himself in extremely perilous situations.
Wild Shrike has so far refused to give any information to DATA about himself previous to his merging with his Kheldian half, but various conversations with him have indicated that he has never met his father, his mother is dead (cause and date not specified), and he has not apparently ever mentioned any other family members. He also apparently was involved with possibly criminal activities in the Steel Canyon/Baumton area, with one incident resulting in severe damage to his right arm ( said damage was eventually repaired by a visitor to the Gemini Park area, in exchange for a blood sample). While Wild Shrike's human name remains unknown, his Kheldian has identified itself as 'Umbriel Shrike'. While it is relatively certain it was a Nictus working for the Council, there aren't any records of this particular Kheldian's involvement there.
Since his employment at DATA, Shrike has been repeatedly disciplined for various infractions. Besides tardiness, sleeping on the job, inappropriate use of computers, and several incidents of him reporting to work intoxicated, Wild Shrike's record includes-
*Attacking a visiting Peacebringer in the cafeteria area. Wild Shrike appeared unable or unwilling to listen to reason, so the Peacebringer defended herself, and Shrike was given a verbal warning once he recovered.
*During the course of his gathering samples to analyse at the labs, Wild Shrike located a Rikti pulse rifle and brought it back to the labs. Unfortunately, it had an attached homing device, and a group of Rikti later teleported into DATA labs to recover it. After this incident, Shrike was given a scanner to check all material with before bringing it in.
*Another group of samples Shrike brought into the labs were infected with Vahzilok Wasting Disease. A third of the staff came down with it, and Doctor Prescott's hearing was permanently damaged as a result. Bacterial and viral scanning software was added to Shrike's scanner.
*A 'wierd fruit' that Wild Shrike brought in to show everyone turned out to be a Devouring Earth pod filled with swarms. The labs were closed for a day while the swarms were exterminated. He was given a written warning about items allowed in DATA labs.
*Finally, in an apparent attempt to 'get back' at DATA following the previous incident, Shrike stopped scanning the items he collected for the labs, which resulted in a timed explosive arriving in the labs. Fortunately no one was injured, but the labs required some amount of repair. Wild Shrike was docked a week's pay and given notice that further incidents would result in dismissal.
(( hopefully more to come soon!))
